Download

KeySnap for Windows

One installer, no bundled extras. The free tier is the same build — enter a licence key when you are ready and the limit lifts.

Installer

Installs for everyone on the computer, which needs administrator approval once. That is what lets KeySnap type into password boxes and administrator windows. KeySnap itself always runs as the signed-in user.

KeySnap-1.7.1-Setup-AllUsers.exe

Portable

A folder you can run from anywhere, including a USB stick. Keeps its shortcuts beside the executable rather than in your profile.

KeySnap-1.7.1-Portable.zip

Requirements. 64-bit Windows 10 version 1809 or later, or Windows 11. Both downloads are self-contained: the .NET runtime travels inside them, so there is nothing to install first and nothing to go wrong on a machine that has never seen .NET. That makes the download around 50 MB; KeySnap uses about 18 MB of memory sitting in the notification area. Every download is signed by 180 Degrees IT, and KeySnap checks that signature again before it installs an update.

Licence

The terms, in plain words

What you get

A licence to use KeySnap, not ownership of it. Pro is perpetual: the version you buy keeps working indefinitely, on up to three devices you personally use, whether or not you renew updates.

What you may do

Install it at work and at home. Move it to a new computer. Keep using it after updates lapse. Export your snippets whenever you like — they are yours, in a plain JSON file you can read.

What you may not do

Share a key with other people, resell it, or deploy one Pro key across an organisation. Team and Site licences exist precisely so that is straightforward and cheaper than doing it badly.

Refunds

Thirty days, no questions. Use the free tier first if you can; we would rather you found out it did not suit you before paying. Australian Consumer Law rights apply on top of this and are not limited by it.

Privacy, since people ask. KeySnap makes no network connections. Licence keys are validated offline against a signature — there is no activation server, no phone-home, and no way for us to know whether you are using it. Buying does involve our payment provider, who will have your email and billing details; nothing about your snippets ever reaches anybody.

Buying

Questions about licences

What happens when my 12 months of updates run out?

Nothing. KeySnap keeps working exactly as it did. You stop receiving new versions until you renew, and renewing is optional and cheaper than the original purchase. There is no nagging, no reduced functionality, and no expiry date on the software.

I have more than 25 shortcuts and I am on Free. What happens?

Everything you already have keeps working. KeySnap will not silently stop expanding shortcut number 26 — it asks you to either upgrade or switch some off, and lets you choose which. Importing a large library on the free tier brings all of it in and leaves the extras switched off, so nothing is lost.

Can I move my licence to a new computer?

Yes, as often as you need to. A Pro licence is for one person, not one machine. The three-device allowance is there so your desktop, laptop and home machine all work; retiring one and adding another is expected and needs no permission.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes. Registered charities, schools and students pay half price — email us from an organisational address. Volume pricing on Team starts at 10 seats. If cost is the only thing standing between you and using it, write to us.

Can our IT department deploy it silently?

Yes, on Team and Site licences. The MSI supports silent install, a pre-seeded settings file, a read-only shared library path, and a licence key supplied as a property, so a machine can be built with KeySnap already configured. GPO ADMX and Intune configuration templates are included.

Is there an invoice, and can we pay by bank transfer?

Card and PayPal for Pro. Team and Site are invoiced with 14-day terms and can be paid by transfer. Australian purchases include GST and receive a compliant tax invoice; overseas purchases are GST-free.

What if 180 Degrees IT stops making KeySnap?

A fair question to ask a company selling you a replacement for a discontinued product. Two answers. Your snippets live in a documented, plain JSON file that you can read, edit and export to CSV or AutoHotkey at any time — you are never locked in. And if KeySnap is ever discontinued, the final version will be released without a licence check so it keeps working.
